I'm sure it will hold it's weight, plaster just has a bad habit of cracking when you put screws through it. If it hasn't cracked yet, you probably are good.

testing right now with leather jacket, will have roomie place her jacket on there tonight. If that passes, Im happy. The anchors each are rated for up to 30lbs, so with three behind it I can't imagine it cracking.

I didn't even realize that it was there until I was cleaning my desk a few days ago and then did some investigative research as to the reason for a plastic sleeve on the underside of my keyboard.
I will say that the ability to flip it up and dock the mouse is a nice feature as I flip-flop from screen to large books all day.
